Post-Publication Discussion Policy

SINOV : Media Informasi Penelitian Kabupaten Semarang is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. The journal welcomes constructive academic discussions, critical comments, and corrections concerning articles that have already been published. In accordance with the principles and guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the journal provides mechanisms for post-publication debate and for correcting, revising, or retracting published articles when necessary.

1

Scope of Post-Publication Discussions

Provides an opportunity to critically examine published research. Submissions may take the form of a Letter to the Editor, a commentary, or a critical discussion.

Discussions must be relevant, supported by evidence, and respectful. Personal attacks or unsupported accusations will not be accepted.

2

Submission of Discussions & Corrections

Readers wishing to submit a comment should contact the editorial team. The submission must identify the article (title, authors, DOI) and explain the specific issue clearly.

The Editors may request additional supporting documentation or decline submissions lacking sufficient academic grounds.

3

Editorial Assessment and Review

Every submission is subject to assessment for relevance, merit, and accuracy. The Editors distinguish between academic disagreement and actual errors.

If credible concerns about errors or research integrity arise, the Editors will contact the relevant authors for an explanation impartially.

4

Authors' Right to Respond

Original authors will ordinarily be given an opportunity to respond to criticisms before a final decision is made. The response must be supported by academic reasoning.

Accepted responses may be published as a Reply to the Letter to the Editor. The opportunity to respond does not guarantee publication.

5

Editorial Decisions

The Editors may accept, request revisions, seek expert advice, or reject a submission. Accepted discussions are published in subsequent issues.

Published discussions and original articles will be linked to facilitate transparent debate based solely on academic considerations.

6

Corrections to Published Articles

If credible evidence of errors is identified, the journal may publish a formal correction notice linked to the original article.

Minor errors are corrected normally, while serious errors undermining the article's reliability may lead to expressions of concern or retraction.

Important Editorial Principle

Post-publication discussions and corrections are intended to improve scholarly communication and protect the integrity of the academic record. They are not intended to punish authors for good-faith errors or legitimate differences of academic opinion. Corrective actions will be proportionate to the issue.

7

Research Integrity Concerns

Submissions raising credible concerns about plagiarism, fabrication, or unethical research are handled under COPE guidelines.

The Editors may request an institutional investigation. If reliability is compromised, an expression of concern or retraction will be issued.

8

Transparency & Ethical Standards

Discussions and corrections are handled with confidentiality during assessment, ensuring parties are treated fairly and conflicts managed.

This transparent process supports constructive academic debate and the continuing reliability of the scholarly record.

Commitment to Scholarly Dialogue

The journal encourages responsible post-publication discussion as an essential part of academic quality control, ensuring that concerns about published work are considered fairly and necessary corrections are made transparently.
