PERSPEKTIF SISWA SMA NEGERI 1 TENGARAN TENTANG PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INGGRIS ONLINE SELAMA PANDEMI COVID-19: MASALAH DAN TANTANGAN

Pandemi Covid-19 menyebabkan pembelajaran online dilakukan sebagai suatu solusi. Pembelajaran bahasa Inggris pun terdampak kondisi tersebut. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perspektif siswa dalam belajar Bahasa Inggris online dan mengeksplorasi masalah serta tantangan yang dihadapi siswa selama pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris online. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan instrumen wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi untuk memperoleh data. Sampel dari populasi sebanyak 22 siswa kelas 12 MIPA 1 dan 2 SMA Negeri 1 Tengaran, Kabupaten Semarang yang dipilih secara acak. Data dianalisis melalui tiga tahap, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa memiliki perspektif negatif terhadap pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris online meskipun masih didapati siswa yang berpandangan positif. Selama pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris online, mereka menghadapi beberapa tantangan besar antara lain sulitnya menerima materi, siswa tidak fokus dan tidak berkonsentrasi saat pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris online berlangsung, merasa bosan, dan siswa tidak memiliki cukup waktu untuk mengerjakan tugas. Ada tujuh hal yang sulit ditangani dan menghambat siswa dalam belajar. Permasalahan tersebut yaitu koneksi dan kuota internet, pekerjaan rumah yang diberikan oleh guru sangat memberatkan, siswa merasa kurang antusias, sulit fokus dan konsentrasi, sulit memahami materi, interaksi yang kurang baik dan terbatas, dan siswa merasa praktek Bahasa Inggris sangat kurang dalam pembelajaran online.
