Pemberian Pelet Pakan Ternak Kambing Memanfaatkan Limbah Tahu dan Batang Pisang di Desa Jimbaran, Kecamatan Bandungan

The goat farming sector in Bandungan faces challenges such as high feed costs, which account for 70% of total production costs, and low feed efficiency in mash form. This study aims to integrate the use of local waste, tofu dregs and banana stems, as the main raw materials for pellet feed to improve cost efficiency and goat performance in Jimbaran Village, Bandungan Subdistrict. An experimental method was used, testing two feed formulations with Formulation 2 (T2) added wheat flour as a binding agent and reduced the proportion of banana stems and EM4 inoculant. Tofu dregs was fermented to reduce water content, break down crude fiber, and extend shelf life. The results showed that Formulation 2 (T2) produced superior physical quality compared to T1. Organoleptic tests on T2 showed brighter color, denser consistency, and fresher odor. Palatability tests on five goats showed high acceptability in T2, with an average feed remaining of only 89.2 grams and most of +40% remaining intact. Biologically, T2 feedings for 10 days showed an average weight gain of 180 grams per day without any digestive disorders. However, proximate tests showed that the protein content of T2 pellets (12.30%) was still below the SNI standard.
